MCC Association Croquet Division 3 & Division 4 Tournament
The Division 3 and 4 events of our annual open tournament were held from 14 to 17 August. Entries were at a maximum and we had play scheduled with 2 games per court over 3 courts from 9 am to 8pm most days.
15 entrants from 7 clubs competed over the 4 days in Division 4 (handicap 18-20) with Karyn-Camille King from Williamstown holding off Pauline Leditschke from Phillip Island in an enthralling, closely fought final 12-10.
Victorian Golf Croquet State Team presentation
VCC hosted the Vic verses Vic A Tournament at Cairnlea this weekend on the 16th and 17th August along with the Victorian Selectors invitation and an AC training day.
Despite the predicted forecasts we had very little rain and players dressed for the cooler weather and enjoyed their weekend of play.

VICTORIAN MEN’S AND WOMEN’S GOLF OPEN SINGLES TOURNAMENT
This event was held at Cairnlea over the weekend of the 2nd & 3rd of August.
11 Women and 24 men competed in the 2 events in very pleasant weather- brisk mornings with clear sunny days and no wind.

Thank you to the fifty players who attended today at the Victorian Croquet Centre and enjoyed participating in games with players from different regions. Particular thanks to Geelong- (Drysdale, Queenscliff, Eastern Park) Ringwood and Ballarat who all had multiple members in attendance. Many other clubs were represented and it was lovely to see some new faces.
Croquet Victoria was honored to have Brian Reither from Ballarat Alexandra Club run the first hoop of the season.

Croquet Victoria has just learnt of the death of Tony Hall OBE, past President of the World Croquet Federation and Treasurer and Senior Vice President of Croquet Australia.
Stephen Mulliner (past Secretary General of the World Croquet Federation) writes:
Tony was one of croquet's great characters. He was a keen sports player all his life and played hockey for Australian Army teams into his 70s. He was also involved in squash and swimming administration.
