Background/expertise

I have been involved with several organisations, large and small, including the National Tertiary Education Union national executive, and the Victorian Council of State School Organisations as vice-president.

My work has been underpinned by the skills and insights I have developed from my formal academic qualifications: PhD in education, MA in history, Graduate Diploma in Sociology.

Interest and involvement in the sport

When my husband and I retired we decided on croquet as our retirement sport, and joined the Brunswick croquet club. Having occasionally played AC as a summer sport, we learnt to play GC. Over the past few years we have played competitively in both GC and AC, including in the Metro GC Shield and the Metro AC Pennant, as well as a variety of club tournaments.

I am accredited in the current coaching system as a Level 2 coach in both GC and AC and continue to coach beginners at Brunswick. I am also an active referee in both GC and AC, at local, state, national and (in AC) international levels.

Sub-Committee Involvement

I was a founding member of the current Marketing and Publicity sub-committee. I have collaborated with colleagues on that committee to develop web resources for clubs: the Growing Your Club page, the Managing a Tournament page, and the Croquet Live Streamed page.

I have also been involved with the development of the last two Croquet Victoria Strategic Plans and the accompanying Implementation Plans, along with successful applications to the State Government for funding to support our strategic initiatives.

I have been in the role of Under 21 Coordinator for the past four years and I am a member of the Child Safety sub-committee.
