VICTORIAN INAUGURAL RICOCHET CROQUET DOUBLES & SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS
Doubles hosted at Traralgon Croquet Club over 8/9 June 2026, the final proved a nerve-wracking affair between Shane Downie & Sue Downie (Traralgon) versus Kevin Beard (Brunswick) & Owen Dickinson (Essendon).
Scores were levelled during the game (at least three times), but Shane & Sue were victoriou
s, 11 hoops to Kevin & Owen 10 hoops. A fitting finale to two days of competition.

Open Championship Singles Winner: Shane Downie (Traralgon) who despite being beaten by Ted Woodley (Chatswood) in the last round of Block play decided the final was a good time for revenge.
Runner-Up: Ted Woodley (Chatswood).
Third Place: Owen Dickinson (Essendon), Fourth Place: Pam Herdman (Elwood).

Traralgon Croquet Club are to be congratulated for their support in hosting both the Doubles and Singles Championships (and the soup). Exceptional roquet and positional skills evident throughout both Doubles and Singles.
Outstanding performance in Block B: Joy Davis (Traralgon) who won seven games consecutively.
Of note also, three Elwood entries triggered from Division 3 into Division 2.

After four years of trying to schedule a state level Ricochet Croquet Championship, it finally happened. Wonderfully organised and hosted.
