Croquet Victoria Open Singles Golf Croquet Championship for 2026
Australia Day saw the finals of the “Croquet Victoria Open Singles Golf Croquet Championship for 2026” played at the Victorian Croquet Centre from 24th Jan till 26th Jan. Competition was of a really high standard and the final was an amazing Best of 3 match between Felix Gelman White (Williamstown) and Richard Hingst (Williamstown). Felix was the victor over Richard 4/7 7/2 7/5. Third placegetters were Lachlan Berryman and Jack Williams. The Plate was won by Alister McDougal from Boort who remained unbeaten in all 5 games he played.
Thankyou to the players and supporters who stayed to watch a wonderful final. The 3 days of competition highlighted a great skill and strategy level from all players. Thankyou to the interstate players who came to compete and challenge the Victorians, this only adds to the tournament.
Many of our referees travelled long distances so we appreciate greatly their assistance over the entire 6 days of competition. Lead up events being the Victorian Croquet Open Doubles and the Australia Day event.
Weather proved a large factor and added interest to the tournament- Day 1 was an early finish due to heat and Day 2 proved to be heavy with smoke from bushfires which only cleared around 11am. A big thankyou to all the players who dealt with the adversity without complaint and continued to play on as conditions allowed. Many players were called back for an early start on the Sunday due to the early cease of play on Saturday and did this without complaint.
Courts were in great condition and running very fast so challenging the players skill set.
