Brian Reither Challenge AC Tournament 2025

The Victorian Association Croquet Brian Reither Challenge tournament was run over the weekend.  The annual event began during COVID as a means of celebrating the contribution of Brian Reither (Ballarat Alexandra) to Association Croquet and to tournament play at State, National and International level.

Greg Hill (MCC/Brunswick) won the event for the second year in a row.  Runner Up for the third time was Trevor Bassett (Cooks River NSW).

Felix Gelman White (Williamstown) continued his good form at last week's Victorian Men's Championship and reduced his handicap further from 6 to 5.  He won all his games in his block of 6 but then went down to Trevor Bassett in the Semifinal.  He was ultimately fourth when Lachlan Berryman (MCC) won their playoff for third place.

Relative newcomers Cherie Lessing (Rich River) and Chelsea Williams (Queenscliff) each won a game against players with lower handicaps.  Both look promising Association Croquet players.

The tournament was managed by Kevin Beard with referees Brian Foley and Mike Cohn.
