Description of Background/Expertise
I have lived my whole life in the farming community of Boort, growing up on the family farm at Barraport. This farm is still in the family with the next 2 generations in control. The farm grows crops of many types and runs sheep for their wool and meat. I currently live in the town of Boort with my wife Marj and have been married for 52 years. Being a farmer, my experiences cover a wide range of topics.
I have played many sports over the years and had experience with many organisations within the Boort Region - holding many positiions within those organisations. Currently I am involved with the local tourism and development committee, and as President of the local Memorial Hall Committee of Management.
Interest and Involvement in the Sport
My involvement with Croquet started in 2000 with the Boort Club and this is now my main sport, holding most positions at the club over the course of time. I enjoy the position of greens keeper at our club and have done since joining the club. Playing both Association and Golf Croquet, I enjoy travelling to various competitiions.
Sub-Committee Involvement
In recent times I have become involved on the Tournament and Fixtures Committee, helping on the Lawns Management Project and a member of COM. The most recent appointments are assistant to the Handicap recorder and as a member of the Health and Safety Committee.
