Our Club

Williamstown Croquet Club was founded in 1926 and opened for play in 1928. The beautiful, historic pavilion was opened in 1929 and is a real feature of the Club. The wide verandah is ideal for enjoying those long summer evenings. Inside is a large air-conditioned pavilion, fully equipped kitchen, locker room and separate male and female toilets.

We welcome all visitors and people wishing to pursue croquet as a sport or social activity and cater for all levels. Both Association Croquet and Golf Croquet are played at our Club.

We have enough space for two full-size or four half-size lawns which can accommodate up to 32 players at a time. We also have mallets available for the use of new members, visitors and guests.

Becoming a Member

You can take out an Introductory Membership for 3 months which gives you time to get a feel for the games plus get to know the club and its members.

You can subsequently decide to continue as a Full Member where you are free to use the facilities anytime they are available as well as participate in regular croquet sessions during the week. Our more experienced players are always willing to spend time teaching newer players how to improve their game.

Why not head on down to Williamstown and give it a try?

To enquire about membership contact the Club Secretary.

Venue Hire

As well as regular Club activities, the pavilion is available for hire for social events and meetings when not in use by members.

The venue accommodates around 50 seated and 80 standing. We also have a well equipped kitchen for food preparation and a BBQ is available for use. You will need to self-cater but we do have a BYO licence.

If you'd like to include croquet there is an extra fee which covers equipment hire, green fees and coaching by experienced players.

If you would like to make a booking enquiry click HERE to complete an online enquiry form.

2020 Association Croquet World Championships

We will be hosting some matches in association with the Victorian Croquet Centre during 15-23 February 2020 as part of the Association Croquet World Championships.
