A Fresh Look at a Timeless Sport

2026 GC Regional Championships

This weekend 10th – 12th April 2026  saw all 14 regions enter teams in the Regional Championships.

A special thank you to all Regions for organizing their teams and especially Bayside who were represented in 2 Divisions for the first time in many years.

Victorian Country AC Regional Championships

Ballarat & District Croquet Association recently hosted the 46th Country AC Regionals with seven regions competing in four divisions. The event was run over 3 days at Ballarat Western and Ballarat Alexandra Clubs. The team event is decided on the hoop aggregates. Individual division results are decided in the usual manner of games then hoops.

Gateball Pairs Competition at Cairnlea

Today under mild conditions all 4 lawns are busy with the pairs competition underway. 

Victorian Gateball Championships 2026

Saturday 27th March the Victorian Gateball Championships were held at VCC

5 teams competed in the Teams Event with 2 Victorian, 1 NSW,! Canberra and 1 interstate team of mixed players from various states and regions.

Kew won the Teams Event winning 3 out of 4 games.

GC Bronze Medal                                                                

The past 3 days saw the 2026 GC Bronze Medal decided at VCC.

Victorian Golf Croquet Squad Training

Saturday night under lights at Traralgon saw play continue till 9 pm with an early 7.30 start Sunday morning.

This weekend the Vic Squad travelled to the scenic courts at Traralgon where they have been very warmly welcomed. The club members are seen here watching training. The squad  in action are being closely  monitored by the State GC coach Shane Downie.

Traralgon has 4 very well manicured courts and will be the host centre for the 2026 Ricochet singles and Doubles in June.

Brunswick Electric Light AC Tournament

Sunday 22nd February 2026 highlighted a great day of croquet at VCC. The weather although forecast to be wet and miserable was very kind to us with some light intermittent misty rain  but the temperature remained warm with  overcast skies and no wind. This allowed play to continue throughout the day .
