Owen Edwards Golf Challenge

November  5th and 6th saw sunshine, no wind and 2 wonderful days of play at Cairnlea for the Owen Edwards Golf Croquet Cup. The courts looked wonderful thanks to the volunteers  mainly Lester, Kevin, Stephen and Owen  who have prepared the venue beautifully.

High level croquet: it's down to the wire

After ten days play in four tests between the world’s leading croquet nations, the competing teams are still neck and neck.

Australia are the defending champions, having won the MacRobertson Shield in California in 2017.

After a narrow win against New Zealand in the first Test, Australia has beaten the US 13:7 with one match yet to be decided. But we are yet to play England, which came into the competition as the highest ranked team.

In the first round of Tests, England had a strong win against the United States team. In the second round, it beat New Zealand 11:10, in the last match of the day.

Australia and England now play off in the final Test to determine who will hold the Shield.

Play starts at 9 am on Thursday 24 November. Spectators are welcome, lunch can be purchased onsite - come and support your team!

All results are on Croquetscores, and video of tests to date can be called up on the live streaming site.
