2022-06-10 Mildura Player Development 1st and 2nd JuneTwelve players from Mildura and Red Cliffs enjoyed the first of three x 2 day development workshops at Mildura Croquet Club last week. The coaching on all aspects of competitive play was informative with all participants learning the tactics side of golf croquet. All are looking forward to the next workshop in July. 2022-06-06 Sad tidingsDenise McMillen passed away Sunday morning, 5th June, 2022, following a bout of ill health. Denise was in her second term as president of Dimboola Croquet Club after three terms as secretary. Also she was the outgoing secretary of Wimmera Croquet Association (WCA) - six terms, following two terms as treasurer.
Posted by: Posted on: 2022-06-15 News Type: General Vale to Frank Creasey Frank passed away peacefully at The Wimmera Base Hospital on Sunday June 12th, 2022. There will be a guard of honor given by the Horsham Croquet Club and all clubs are invited to join in, on Tuesday June 21st 11.00am at The Horsham Uniting Church. Frank began playing croquet a few years after his wife Lyn. They have travelled around attending many tournaments and clubs in their "Croquet Years" together. Frank was a valued member of our club, he was so knowledgeable in many different aspects, always willing to help, mentor new players or even teach anyone who asked his opinion. Frank was a qualified Referee, our club's No. 1 Player (handicap of 1), Championship winner of both Horsham Club and Wimmera Croquet Association. He was still playing croquet (although with difficulty) until a couple of months ago.Frank will be missed by us all and The Horsham Croquet Club gives our condolences to Lyn, Michelle, Chris and family.
2022-06-26 Croquet Victoria updateCroquet Victoria’s recent Annual General Meeting farewelled Jim Clement, who has served almost six years as President, and elected Kate Patrick to the chair. Stephen Forster was re-elected as Vice-President, and Claire Keating remains as Treasurer. Helen Worladge and Eileen Gough were endorsed as incoming members of the Committee of Management. Many thanks to Sarina Cevaal-Hewitt for her six years of service as Secretary. No nominations were received for the Secretary position, which remains vacant. Nominations for the position are now being sought, for consideration at the August Council meeting. Information about the position is available from president@croquetvic.asn.au At the Council meeting following the AGM, some new appointments were made and several members confirmed in their existing roles. 2022-06-27 Warrnambool GC Coaching Workshop 26th and 27th MayWarrnambool hosted 12 players from Portland, Koroit and Warrnambool for the first of three 2-day coaching workshops for novice players. Players were enthusiastic about all aspects of the coaching, and particularly enjoyed the skills measurements and tactics sessions. Players appreciated the follow-up with individual feedback on some of the of hoop running, ball clearing and placements skills exercises, and the youtube video of stop-shots played at the workshop was of particular interest. |
