Three Golf Croquet tournaments over five days

Starting on Australia Day, the Victorian Croquet Centre hosted five successive days of highly competitive croquet.

A keen group of ten golf croquet players contested the Australia Day tournament at the Victorian Croquet Centre.  This single day tournament was run as level play in a low handicap event and a high handicap event.

Victoria's AC Gold Cup and Silver Shield

In fine sunny weather conditions, the VCA AC Gold Cup and Silver Shield tournaments were held on the weekend 5 and 6 February 2022. These are high level events with a total of 16 players competing, eight in each block playing a single round robin format.

All members of the 2022 Eire Cup played giving them all a good opportunity to compete against other high-level players. The standard of play was high in each event.

Inspirational workshop at Charlton

Charlton CC hosted the 2nd Player Development workshop for Developing AC competitors in warm conditions on 8 and 9 February 2022.

Once again Kenn Boal was our coach.

COVID and croquet: current restrictions in Victoria

Under the Victorian State Government's most recent orders, face masks are no longer required in clubhouses, and there are no limits on player numbers indoors or outdoors.

However, social play is still restricted to people who are double vaxxed or excepted (medically exempt or under 18). It is open to clubs to require everyone attending to be double vaxxed, including juniors. Clubs should be keeping a running record of players as their vaxx certificates are sighted. 

Everyone attending also needs to continue to check in using the Government QR app.

Double vaccination is not required for community sport or elite groups practising, so long as the group has the practice site to themselves.

Details of the current requirements have been circulated to clubs via the updated Return to Croquet guidelines
