2020-09-17 Taking the Third Step: good news for regional croquetCroquet players are celebrating as regional Victoria takes the Third Step of Victoria's return to "COVID-normal". Social distancing and hygiene requirements are still in place, and clubhouses remain closed, but both doubles and singles play are now allowed and up to ten players can participate. Again provided social distancing is in place, competition is also permitted, though numbers are still limited - no more than the minimum required for the competition, plus officials. Spectators are not allowed. As always, clubs will consult their local authority and their members in deciding how they will operate within these looser restrictions. Metro Melbourne, including the Mornington Peninsula, is still in the First Step, with sports clubs closed and exercise only allowed within a bubble 5 km from home. Travel in and out of Melbourne is banned except in very limited circumstances. For detail, see our updated Return to Play Guidelines. 2020-08-17 New faces on Croquet Victoria CouncilThe 2020 Annual General Meeting of Croquet Victoria, which was delayed by isolation requirements, was conducted online via Zoom on Monday 17 August. VicSport provided an independent scrutineer for our secret ballots. Thank you, Anthony Bowd. Jim Clement (Sarsfield), who was re-elected in 2019, continues as President. Elected to the other Executive positions were Stephen Forster (Belmont) as Vice President (defeating Kate Patrick, (Brunswick)), and Sarina Cevaal-Hewitt (Twin City) as Secretary and Claire Keating (Williamstown) as Treasurer (both unopposed).

2020-10-06 Updated Return to Play guidelines for croquet in VictoriaCroquet Victoria has released updated Return to Play guidelines for croquet players in Victoria. The guidelines take account of recently published Sport and Recreation Victoria updated Return to Play guidance. This provides detail on the COVID-19 restrictions applying to sport and recreation in Victoria, with separate sections for metropolitan Melbourne (where all sporting clubs are closed) and regional Victoria (where both play and competition are allowed for non-contact sports such as croquet). The SRV guidance clarifies that state sporting associations are to set participation limits for sporting competitions, depending on the minimum number required for the competition. This number includes players and essential officials such as referees and coaches, but not onlookers. 2020-10-09 OPEN INVITATION - ACA ACADEMY PRESENTATIONEveryone is invited to the National launch of the Australian Croquet Academy hosted by Greg Bury.
