Long tense battle resolves ACA GC Doubles

The Australian Golf Croquet Doubles Championships was highlighted by a tense and exciting final.

The two pairings were both from Victoria - John van der Touw and Richard Parks (Monash) and Brian Rowe and Owen Dickinson (Essendon).

The final was a best of five 13-point games and the match went right to the 13th hoop in the 5th game.  Can you get closer than that?  The match took well over eight and a half hours to play. The level of play was highly tactical and most entertaining.

ACA Golf Croquet Singles final to be played on Sunday

The final of the Australian Golf Croquet Championship will be played tomorrow (Sunday) between Alison Sharpe (Killara, NSW) and Kevin Beard (Yarrawonga, Victoria). The match will be a Best of Five games contest and will commence at 8 am.

Alison defeated Gail Hopkins (Essendon, Victoria) in their semi-final while Kevin won over Peter Freer (Canberra, NSW). Unfortunately Gail has had to withdraw from the play-off for 3rd and 4th placing with an injury.

The Plate Final was held today with Bob Martin (Eildon, Queensland) beating Ross Rillie (Headland Buderim, Queensland) in a 19-point game.

We look forward to a challenging match tomorrow.  Spectators are welcome.

Scores will be put into Croquetscores as soon as each game is finalised.
