National AC doubles championships go to the wire
An absorbing three days of Association Croquet doubles concluded at Cairnlea on 13 November.
Eighteen pairs contested the event, including participants from all over Australia, two from New Zealand and one from the UK. They provided a great spectacle.
Deniliquin hosts GC handicap championships
The ACA national Handicap Championships in Golf Croquet were held at Deniliquin from 6 to 10 November.
This was the first national handicap tournament since the change to the new handicap system in April, and games took a little longer with more extra turns.

Close fought final in Horsham GC Pennant
Eight teams play in the Wimmera Golf Croquet Pennant competition, with three singles and two doubles handicap sessions per match.
The Pennant final was played on Monday 13 November, a very warm day which was survived by all.
Finalists were Horsham Wattle and Horsham Banksia.

The match was not decided till the last two doubles games. In the end, Horsham Wattle 10 games 93 hoops defeated Horsham Banksia 6 games 82 hoops.

All hail the champion!
For the past seven years, Robert Fletcher (Lismore) has dominated the Australian AC Singles Championship.
Since 2011, he has won the title every year but 2015 - when he lost to brother Greg in the quarter finals, and Greg went on to win.
In 2017 Robert is again the champion, beating Greg (Hyde Park) in three straight games in the final.
Vic gateballers win in NSW
The NSW Gateball Championships were held in Young, NSW, over the weekend of 17-19 November.
Victoria was represented by five players from Kew and one from Essendon. The team was Philip Brown (capt), Maxine Maclachlan, Trish Watts, Gilon Smith, Kerry Seipolt and Elaine Coverdale.
