A brief history of Cobram Croquet Club
Cobram Croquet Club joined NEDCA in 1983. In 1989 the Shire Council donated $2000.00 To the club for a small prefabricated building to be used as a club house on the Queen St Site. The minutes from 1980-2003 show a small but dedicated band of croquet players. Some of the original players are still involved with the club.
Despite the limited space of two 'B' lawns the club managed to participate in social days and tournaments.
In 2004 The Cobram Croquet Cub moved to its present site at the Cobram Tennis & Croquet Club on William St. In the early days Association Croquet was the game of choice but Golf Croquet has taken over at the moment. The club hopefully will be reintroducing Association in the near future.
We are fortunate in having superb lawn courts to play on and are indebted to the tennis club for their upkeep. As usual we are always on the lookout for new members. If you would like to come along and try we are offering 4 free games, all equipment supplied.
