NEDCA Closing Day

NEDCA 2017 Closing Day With a backdrop of autumn colours and a midday drop of rain forty six croquet players met at the Benalla Croquet Club for NEDCA's Closing Day on Tuesday 23 May 2017. With both Golf Croquet and Association Croquet and a buffet table laden with afternoon tea the eventual winners on the day were: Association Croquet: Ruth Duffy (Corowa Civic), Blue Block Golf Croquet Alan Hunter (Walla Walla) with Terry Walsh (Beechworth) the Runner-up. Red Block Winner was Peter Jongeeneel (Walla Walla) and Nola Scholz (Walla Walla) the Runner-up.


NEDCA 2017 GC Championships

The NEDCA 2017 Golf Croquet Championships were hosted by the Benalla Croquet Club on Thursday 23 March 2017. Division 1 Winner was Chas Quinn (Yarrawonga) with Terry Wilson (Wangaratta) Runner-up. Division 2 Winner was Terry Walsh (Beechworth) and Maurice Cevaal-Hewitt (Twin City)Runner-Up. Division 3 Winner was Trish Rogash (Benalla)with Michael Nixon (Corowa Civic) Runner-Up. Congratulations to all players who participated.


NEDCA 2017 AGM

The 2017 NEDCA Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday 9 May at Wangaratta saw the handover from Beechworth Croquet Club to Benalla Croquet Club. Benalla will now provide the personnel to fill the President, Secretary and Treasurer's roles for the next two years with the next Club in the two yearly rotation being Bright Croquet Club. A member of the Bright Croquet Club fills the Vice-President's position. We thank Beechworth Croquet Club for their efforts over the last two years and trust all clubs will support Benalla Croquet Club over the coming two years.

NEDCA 2017 GC Pennant Finals

The Results are in. At the half-time break of the NEDCA 2017 Golf Croquet Pennant contested between Albury and Wodonga at the Albury Croquet Club on Wednesday 24 May 2017 it was Wodonga leading 4 games to Albury 2 games. Lunchtime refreshments and hydration saw the Albury team of Peter Moffat, Kaye Moffat, Beryl Matthews and Helen Collins play gritty croquet to eventually take the day with 7 games, 82 hoops, Wodonga 5 games 74 hoops. The Wodonga team of Gerald Milton, Maria Kovacs, John Drummond and Bev Zuber are to be commended, making sure that Albury earned the win


NEDCA Life Membership Award

At the Annual General Meeting of the North Eastern District Croquet Association, Graeme Gallus was awarded Life Membership in recognition of his many years involvement with croquet - particularly Association Croquet - playing, coaching and promoting throughout his own region and beyond. Well deserved.
