2018-04-08 Selectors Invitation Golf CroquetThe First Selectors Invitation Tournament was recently held at Cairnlea. It was run over two days with 32 players competing in four round robin blocks followed by finals. Entry was by way of invitation and these were issued to a range of established and rapidly developing players. 2018-04-08 Victorian Golf Croquet Bronze MedalThe Victorian Division of the ACA Golf Croquet Bronze Medal was held at Cairnlea from 6 to 8 April. This event is the qualifying tournament for the ACA Gold Medal to be held in Sydney later in the year. World Rankings for Victorian players are used to select the invited field with eight players competing in a full round robin over three days with each match being the best of three games.

Twelve regions took part with 35 players playing for their regions. Games were all played in great spirit and hotly contested. Referees came from all competing regions and were competently led by Nancy Hatherall as TR. Many thanks to them all for keeping everything in order and running well. Regional winners were: Div 1 Div 2 Div 3 Full results of the Divisional round robin games are on Croquetscores. The Lefel Shield was won by Goulburn Valley with 186 points. Runner up was North Eastern with 179 points. Thank you to everyone who helped during the two days and the players and referees who assisted with putting everything away at the end of play. 2018-04-23 Thanks to Brian Reither on a job well doneBrian Reither gave notice at the Victorian Croquet Association Council Meeting held on Monday 23 April 2018 that his time as the Regional Director for Ballarat and District Croquet Association would end at the upcoming 2018 VCA AGM. Already a Victorian Croquet Association Life Member (awarded in 2015), Brian has given sixteen years service to croquet at the State Level. 2018-04-08 New club brings croquet to the communityCroquet Victoria's newest club, RNB Croquet Club, recently visited Portsea Camp and introduced croquet to over seventy youngsters at a school holiday camp.
